BestStart Paerata Rise is seeking a passionate and dedicated Qualified and Registered Teacher to join our energetic and tight-knit team as our new Head Teacher in our Preschool room.Our focus is to provide quality education to the children in our community and we are excited to be involved in research around children's Oral language and Self-regulation- Kia Timata Pai. This research involves around 1,600 BestStart pre-schoolers!BestStart Paerata Rise (named after the Rata tree) is a new purpose built centre and growing in occupancy steadily as our community around us expands in this new exciting subdivision. Carparking is available for staff and we are on the main route for the local bus. About the Role:An exciting opportunity has come about for a Preschool Head Teacher to join our fun loving team at our newly established centre. As Head Teacher, you will lead a team and collaborate with others to achieve the best results for our people and Tamariki. You will drive and promote the philosophy and vision of our centre and what we stand for... 'Popoia te kākano, kia puāwai - Nurture the seed so it will blossom'Our ideal candidate will be a team player, have a willingness to support and be a mentor for others and have a great sense of humour but most of all have the energy and creativity to make meaningful experiences for our curious Preschoolers in their all important years before school whilst being an inspiring leader to all.Building strong relationships with our Tamariki, their Whanau and amongst our staff is valuable in our centre, so communication is key in this role and the ability to build a good rapport with our families is vital.This position can be suitable for an ECE or Primary trained teacher however you MUST have had ECE teaching experience and current Te Whaariki curriculum knowledge. B Ed/Dip Teaching Level 7 (ECE or Primary) and current Teacher Certification
A strong understanding of programme planning, pedagogy and curriculum
Good knowledge of the current ECE Regulations, Te Whariki and hold compliance in a high regard
Passion and commitment for teaching and learning with a focus on delivering quality
