About the roleYou will thrive working at Merivale Retirement Village in Christchurch. Flourishing in a beautiful setting you will take pleasure the delivery of basic handyman services to a high standard ensuring that the maintenance for our village and care home are at a high standard. You will be working Monday to Friday 40 hours per week.Duties Include:
  • Repair/engage in basic maintenance, and support the grounds staff.
  • Be involved in the resident social events as and when needed for support such as BBQ's and occasionally driving the van as needed.
  • You will be a "Jack of all trades" and happy to do a bit of everything relating to maintenance for our residents.
  • Ensure safety and comfort of residents, visitors, and staff by following health and safety guidelines at all times
  • Take responsibility in liaising with residents daily to understand and problem solve any general maintenance issues on site.
Experience and Skills Required:
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with strong time management.
  • Ability to prioritise your workload to ensure effective outcomes.
  • Experience in a similar role preferred
  • Confidence and ability to use hand tools, power tools and to operate maintenance machinery.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal & strong customer service skills.
  • Full Drivers License
  • Compassionate with a can do attitude!
