Te whiwhinga mahi | The OpportunityAn opportunity exists for an experienced Child & Adolescent or Forensic Psychiatrist to join our exciting and innovative multidisciplinary team – Tū Māia. Tū Māia provides consultation, assessments, Court ordered reports, Court based Liaison Services and short focused interventions for young offenders presenting to the youth justice system with mental health issues. We also provide mental health care for adolescent residents at the secure youth justice facility in South Auckland.Tū Māia was suitably named as the rangatahi and whānau using the service are predominantly Māori and are thought to be brave and courageous engaging in the court ordered comprehensive assessment processes whereby highly personal information is sought and shared after a very short period of engagement with the clinicians and cultural advisors.You will contribute to the delivery of Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS), allowing you to thrive professionally in providing your clinical expertise and knowledge to most areas of young people's mental health. Tū Māia has a strong commitment to collaboration between young person, family, staff, and other services.There are also opportunities for interagency liaison, training, and to contribute to on-going service development. If successful, you will also be involved in our on-call roster of Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists from across the Auckland region. At present there are a good number of consultants involved so this need not be greatly demanding.This is a permanent, full time (or part time) position and based at Kari Centre (CAMHS), Greenlane Clinical Centre.
