We are an upbeat and energetic team, who thrive in this wonderfully varied role working with consumers experiencing progressive dementia, acute delirium, as well as depression, anxiety, paranoia and general behavioural problems associated with altered cognition. With an organic psychiatric focus, we provide comprehensive assessment of the mental and physical health of older persons; we aim to optimise the patients level of functioning and in so doing we offer specialist treatment, care, support and education for the consumer alongside their whanau.Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experienceYou will join the team as a highly motivated and enthusiastic enrolled nurse, with an interest in psychiatric services for the elderly. You will also have a willingness to learn and excellent interpersonal skills.In order to be successful in this role you will have the following:
Compassion, good communication and organisational skills as well as sound assessment skills are essentials.
A solution focused approach along with the ability to work effectively within a team.
Organisational skills as a key component to the role is coordinating the care with all members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure positive outcomes for your patients.

Along with 11 inpatient wards, we also have a busy Out Patient Department; 4 theatres with an Admitting Unit and PACU.
