About the roleWe have an exciting opportunity to embark on your journey as a Category Strategy Manager for our head-office based in Newmarket. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, communicating, and executing insight-led plans and initiatives for your portfolios that align with the Tegel commercial strategy and optimise business performance.Reporting to the Category Strategy Lead, this role plays a strategic and operational role in the business, working closely with the Sales & Marketing teams and across the broader business through key processes such as NPD development, Sales and Operations Planning, Customer Engagement and Annual Financial Planning. This is a fantastic opportunity to be a part of a strong and close-knit retail team where you will be empowered to influence broad scope of decisions and make positive contribution to your portfolio management.A day in the life of Category Strategy Manager
  • Deliver annual Category plans that align to the commercial strategy and drive long-term Category growth.
  • Deliver annual 4Ps plans that align to strategy and maximise category and business performance.
  • Own and manage 4Ps for your categories, using multiple data points to provide fact and insight-based guidelines for short- and long-term plans.
  • Identify gaps and opportunities by providing action-oriented category/shopper insights, analytics, and recommendations, both internally and externally.
  • Proactively identify business opportunities outside of retailers' range review cycles.
  • Develop strong relationships with retailer partners by providing a total category approach to retailer recommendations, with valued insights, analytics, and strategies.
  • Ensure strategic and pricing alignment across all touchpoints in store.
  • Be the main point of contact for scan and retailer loyalty data agencies.
What will you bring?
  • A business degree or relevant qualification with 5 years+ FMCG experience in a Sales or Category role.
  • Excellent analytical skills and commercial acumen.
  • Preferred expertise in IRI / Nielsen, Quantium & Dunhumby
  • Strong influencing and leadership skills with the ability to develop strong cross-functional relationships.
