Our client, a leading service provider in the health sector, seeks an experienced professional to deliver high-quality patient-focused care in their General Surgery Department.Company Overview

In the role of a General Surgeon with a specialty in Oncoplastic Breast Surgery, you will play an integral part in providing top-tier clinical care, collaborating with Nurse Specialists, other Nursing and Allied Health staff, and primary care clinicians. Your expertise will be vital in triaging and managing a range of conditions in a large hospital capacity, particularly regarding on-call General Surgery responsibilities.Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality clinical care to patients, ensuring professional standards are maintained in accordance with MCNZ statutory and regulatory requirements
  • Conduct outpatient clinics, ward rounds, community visits, pre-operative assessments and operating lists and other clinical duties efficiently
  • Provide prompt advice on patients referred for specialist advice within the hospital
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and provide support to relevant healthcare teams
  • Respond effectively to referral letters by triaging and providing telephone advice and consultation
  • Prepare and manage reports as required (e.g., ACC, coroner, police reports, complaints).
Requirements
  • FRACS or equivalent specialist qualification
  • Vocational Registration in General Surgery and subspecialist training in Oncoplastic Breast Surgery
  • Understanding and knowledge of Te Tiriti o Waitangi
  • Proven ability to work under pressure in a large hospital environment
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills both within and outside the department
  • Current APC and recent membership with a medical indemnifier.
