Position SummaryTo provide the necessary specialist product, marketing knowledge and expertise to internal Samsung staff and customers. To contribute to the achievement of the Division’s Sales and gross and margin objectives by identifying new business opportunities and preparing a detailed product marketing plan for the Digital (Home) Appliances portfolio. Proficiency in Korean language would be a plus, for effective regular business communications with headquarters.Role and ResponsibilitiesFinancial Targets
  • Assist the Sales Team in the achievement of the division’s sales and gross margin objectives by preparing detailed product marketing plans for products portfolio with specific inputs relating to price, product, promotional and advertising programs, distribution strategies, point of sale support and service requirements.
Product Management
  • Manage products through their lifecycle
  • Maintaining the optimum inventory level required by the company at all times, monitoring stock whereabouts and estimated time of arrival – this is a significant part of this role.
  • SCM demand planning regularly in conjunction with the sales team to reach consensus
  • Maintain up-to-date price-lists for the Product Group - including price moves, analysis and price protection calculation
  • Provide Sales forecast for products, per information provided by sales managers; Monitor daily sales and provide necessary support to achieve the division’s sales forecast
  • Work with the technical manager to ensure Samsung has 100% compliance with Regulatory requirements.
  • Work with relevant teams to make sure product information on Websites/brochures and other collateral is correct
Supply Chain Management
  • Work closely with both Samsung's internal and external customers to ensure that the supply chain is managed efficiently and effectively.
  • Focus needs to be put on Distribution to have the right balance of stock, to ensure our overall financial objectives are met, while at the same time maximizing their stock turns and stock management requirements
Retail Management
  • Working closely with the retail manager, plan, design, and install display materials
  • Plan, and update point of sales materials (POS) for each SKU
  • Plan and track new launch activities at the retail level
  • Analyse and report retail management KPIs, including ‘Stock Out’, ‘Dead SKU analysis’ and strategizing improvement plan
Product + Solution knowledge
  • Conduct product training for the retail salespeople, internal sales, Samsung representatives and service Staff.
  • Joint visits with the sales team as and when required
  • Ensure activities comply with acts and regulations as well as adhere to local and global Samsung Electronics policies.
  • Communicate with appropriate Export teams and Head Office in Korea regarding necessary information related to products at the direction of the Head of Marketing
  • Liaise with Head Office regarding product development, market trends and market pressures.
  • Ageing stock reports regularly
  • Preparing product marketing plans to enhance the awareness and reputation of the company.
  • Develop and provide specialist product knowledge for the product range.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Degree qualified preferred. Equipped with 5 to 10 years of product management career experience, preferably within consumer electronics or home/digital appliances sector
  • Proficiency in Korean language is highly desirable for effectively conducting daily business discussions with headquarters
  • Intellectually curious, high energy and proactive at taking and driving initiative
  • Incredibly resilient and able to bounce back quickly from disappointment
  • Passion for technology
  • Flexible and adaptable personality, complemented by analytical strength and strong interpersonal skills
