Part Time 0.6FTE, PermanentRemuneration as per Pay Equity Claim Settlement Agreement (between DA2 $106,000 - DB3 $114,000)The Opportunity:An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly skilled, dynamic and enthusiastic Speech Language Therapist to join the Acute Adult team, at Middlemore Hospital. We are looking for a senior Speech Language Therapist with advanced skills in the assessment and management of communication and swallowing impairments. Experience and advanced competencies in FEES and VFSS are essential. Experience in tracheostomy care and in working with patients with head & neck cancer and laryngectomy are desirable.You will be able to work autonomously, as well as be part of a multi-disciplinary and wider Speech Language Therapy team. You will be required to work across services, including ICU and you will need to be flexible to support the SLT team, where needed. Your role will involve supporting other SLT’s to achieve their clinical competencies and will include provision of supervision and an element of leadership. There will be many opportunities for on-going professional and personal development and peer review and formal supervision, will be well supported.Important Skills:As the ideal person for this role you will have the following skills and attributes:· New Zealand approved qualification to practice speech and language therapy· Membership with NZSTA with a current Annual Practicing Certificate· 5 years minimum post qualification clinical experience working with adults, as a speech language therapist· A minimum of Level 3 FEES competency· VFSS competency· Experience with head & neck and acute dysphagia patients· An understanding of bicultural issues and commitment to the Treaty of Waitangi· Experience in supporting/supervising others, driving service development and implementing change/improvements· Ability to work collaboratively with a range of professional groups in a multidisciplinary setting· Effective time management, prioritisation and organisation skills· Drive, energy, initiative with excellent communication, interpersonal and team play skillsWhat's in it for you?· Flexible ways of working providing you with a better work life balance· Contribution towards your NZSTA (SLT Association) membership· Refund of your annual practising certificate cost as per policy guidelines· Discounted services as part of our work perksPlease apply online at www.countieshealthjobs.com.
