Build your best future with the Johnson Controls teamWe are needing a Fire Equipment Technician to join our Napier team!At Wormald, we have a strong, stable and supportive team culture, and we’re passionate about what we do – Fire Protection!We are the leading fire protection specialists in New Zealand, we have been protecting people and property here for over 130 years and enjoy a reputation as providing the most capable and reliable safety products and services nationwide.What we offer:Fulltime Permanent employment; 40 hours per weekYou will be supplied with a company vehicle, smart phone, and uniformCompetitive wage package including staff benefitsExcellent team cultureOngoing training and opportunities for professional development and upskilling including NZQA TrainingWhat you will do:To sell and service Fire Equipment, provide/offer training and related products to existing and prospective customers including commercial, industrial, governmental and other organisationsTo maintain and develop existing customer relationships and to ensure all work carried out meets agreed quality standardsTo attain budgeted sales and service targets, ensuring where possible, there is a direct focus on selling or promoting training internally and externally at agreed price structureHow you will do it:Test and service all Fire Equipment to NZS 4503: 2005 and related standards, including surveying sites ensuring at all times that all equipment is maintained to the highest standard before being certifiedEnsure that various organisations site hazards and risks are minimised by correct training procedures including safety equipment is recommended/used and maintained to relevant NZ standards and Health & Safety requirementsAssess site hazards, check current site procedures being used and make recommendations in line with NZ Standards and Health and Safety requirementsLiaising with organisations and fire service on trial evacuations being doneExamine/assess protective equipment used, advise on correct type and manner usedEnsure all customer inquiries and orders are dealt with and completed in a timely mannerWhat we look for?Proven sales and servicing experience with a mechanical background is preferableExperience in the Fire Protection industry would be an advantageExperience as a Fire/Emergency Trainer would be an advantageAbility to offer correct advice in line with the relevant standardPlease note pre-employment checks – including reference checks, medical, criminal record check, and drug & alcohol testing – will form part of the eligibility process.If this is the right opportunity for you - Apply Now!
