- Ensure the provision of quality customer service to clients whilst promoting the image, capability and integrity of SGS New Zealand Ltd
- Effectively lead, coach and manage the tanker, bunker operational employees of the branch. This is inclusive of timesheets, job sheets, recruitment, retention, professional development and performance management, whilst ensuring employees adhere to their employment agreements and all relevant policy, process and legislation (with assistance from HR). Note: Employee and industrial relationship issues to be discussed and progressed in discussion with branch manager.
- In association with the Branch Manager translate the branch business strategy into a pragmatic action plan; manage and execute the plan
- Develop and implement cost savings initiatives
- Operate to the highest standards of ethics, in accordance with the SGS Statement of Integrity
- Develop any new business opportunities with branch manager.
- Be aware of and ensure complete adherence to all Health, Safety & Environment protocols, policies and procedures.
- Bunkering, Tanker knowledge, practical experience is preferable.
- Able to coordinate and motivate a team towards a common goal.
- Close out staffing issues and customer issues in a timely manner.
- Computer competency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word
- Technical knowledge and experience in related field and in using management methods and tools.
- Able to work independently and to coordinate several activities simultaneously.

- Able to interact with all levels of management, employees, suppliers and clients.
- Effective communication, negotiation and interpersonal skill
