Reporting to the Maintenance Delivery Manager - Zone Substations and External customers, as the Technical Maintenance Specialist- Substations & Strategic Assets, you'll be responsible for managing resources to operate efficiently and productively in delivering Vector's Maintenance plan and external contracts. You will see to the safety and compliance of office and field staff.Based in Auckland, you will also:- Proactively look at opportunities to improve our maintenance delivery; maintenance of annual Preventative, Corrective and ,Asset replacement work schedules
- Ensure all relevant asset maintenance plans are implemented , completed and kept up to date
- Monitor, analyse and report on financial performance against targets
- Project manage small capital works
- Manage corrective defects generated from Substation and CBD Tunnel Fault callouts
- Provide guidance and technical expertise to drive team performance and ensure both office and field staff are getting training and development as needed
- Be mindful, be present, be safe for yourself, workmates, customers, the public, networks and the environment
- Assess situations for the safety of yourself and your team members achieving 100% compliance with HSQE requirementsWhat's in it for you?

To be successful in this role you will display strong people skills, customer focus and lead within a high-performing team who work both in office and field roles. You will be able to manage challenging situations in a calm, mature manner and role model safety, quality guidelines consistently according to best practice. We're looking for an individual who can further demonstrate the following:- Tertiary education with an electrical power major (Preferred)
- Demonstrated operational experience preferably in the maintenance of electrical assets
- The ability to motivate, mentor and lead demonstrating integrity and trust
- Ability to pro-actively promote a safety culture in line with legislation and company procedures ; deliver positive outcomes without compromising Health, Safety, Quality and the Environment (HSQE)
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Experience with using an Asset/Works management system will be an advantage; key will be the ability and “can do” mindset to learn systems quickly
- Strong interpersonal and collaborative working relations in a multi-cultural environment
- Robust numerical and analytical skills
- A strategic and critical thinker with the ability to solve problems and make decisions
- Enjoy working in team environments, yet able to work self-directed
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Full clean Driver LicenceAbout us
