Start your journey with us today!Rotorua Lakes Council's CCTV Camera Operators work closely with the Safe City Guardian team and partner agencies such as the Police, to improve crime prevention, detection and ultimately, public safety in the Rotorua District. This collaborative approach also plays an increasingly important role in improving perceptions of safety in our District and in particular, our CBD.Guided by Council's Community Safety Plan, the provision of efficient and effective CCTV monitoring services is a crucial linkage in creating and maintaining a safer district for residents and visitors alike. Council is seeking to continue its expansion and improvement of CCTV monitoring activities and we are now seeking an additional skilled CCTV Camera Operator.This is an exciting full-time, permanent role within Councils Community and Regulatory Services team for an enthusiastic individual with previous experience in Security or in a similar relatable role. The successful applicant will preferably possess suitable experience in CCTV operations/systems.The normal hours of work will be 40 hours per week, between the hours of 7:00am and 4:00am, as per rotating roster. Hours of work may vary in response to the changing needs of our community, seasonal trends and in support of key partner agencies.As our ideal candidate you will have:
  • Proven and highly efficient analytical, observational, reporting/recording, written and verbal communication skills and also be able to deal effectively with changing priorities, technology and requirements.
  • The ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively as part of a wider team including external partners/agencies.
  • Proven experience with working in a challenging, analytical and demanding customer focused environment where process and confidentiality are key requirements.
  • The ability to express complex matters with simplicity, clarity and professional integrity.
  • A passion for improving community safety in the Rotorua District.
  • A clear Police record.
