Do you have compliance and leadership experience, and are you seeking a new job in New Zealand? Apex Group is looking for a Compliance Lead and Data Protection, to be based ideally in Auckland but open to consider those in Wellington.As a Compliance Lead, you will be expected to be a trusted adviser, business partner, and leader to lead and support compliance matters in New Zealand. You will work closely with the local business leaders and key New Zealand stakeholders pursuant to the Compliance Charter of the company.Your roles and duties are but not limited to:
  • Have oversight and support the day-to-day reporting requirements including monthly and weekly compliance reporting, periodic compliance risk assessments and analysis reporting, regulatory filings etc. General scope of work as expected from a Head of Compliance would fall within the coverage of this role.
  • Provide advice on compliance issues and regulatory requirements relating to our New Zealand businesses
  • Be the first escalation point for any suspicious activity and report such activity to regulatory authorities as appropriate
  • Act as the Money Laundering Reporting Officer and the Data Protection Officer
  • Prepare and pursue regular compliance reporting required by the Apex Group and local laws and regulations.
To apply for this full-time Compliance role, you will need over 10 years of compliance and leadership experience and a proven track record relevant to our New Zealand businesses. You will also require the following:
  • A professional Compliance qualification
  • Expertise in AML / CFT and/or Privacy Act compliance is highly desirable including an ACAMS qualification
  • Strategic thinker and problem solver with analytical capability and the ability to provide options and solutions to achieve results
  • People management skills at all levels and working independently and as a team player
  • The ability to multi-task, prioritise workloads and manage timescales.
