This role will work within our Business Advisory team in a Manager capacity. Culture is a priority - as we continue to launch, acquire and scale businesses into different market segments, upholding a core set of key behaviours will enable us to continue to be successful, together.The OpportunityYou will be assigned a portfolio of clients and will be responsible for the development and mentoring of a team of accountants and graduates, with the goal of delivering high quality accounting and advisory work.As a valued senior member of the team, you will engage directly with our Partners and Senior Partners in Business Advisory, as well as with our Workflow Manager to distribute and redirect work across multiple staff.This role is responsible for ensuring that all aspects of clients' engagement are running smoothly with a strong focus on client delivery and people mentoring. This position provides support to develop capability among team members, including delegating and reviewing their work, as well as helping to train, mentor and supervise their performance and productivity.Key responsibilities:
  • Produce and review compliance documents, complex special purpose financial statements, IFRS RDR financial statements, tax returns and reconciliations for companies, partnerships, trusts, limited partnerships and a range of individual businesses
  • Achieve budgeted chargeable hours, fee targets and profitability of the work for themselves and their team
  • Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge to ensure compliance with all statutory and relevant regulatory requirements
  • Manage, coordinate and delegate client work to team members with an appropriate level of capability to ensure team targets are met
  • Service existing client relationships ensuring jobs are completed effectively by meeting technical standards and deadlines, within budget.
  • Drive retention by empowering and nurturing team members to develop their capability and deliver exceptional performance
  • Look for opportunities to value add to clients' scope of work with the firm and deepen external networks, developing business and raising the Findex profile.
  • Liaising with clients on general business advisory and accounting and tax questions as they arise.
About you:
  • A relevant Accounting degree (preferred)
  • Achieved CA or CPA qualification or be working towards this
  • Minimum of 6-7 years of proven accounting experience in a Public Practice
  • Strong Excel skills and practical experience with cloud accounting products (i.e. Xero, MYOB)
  • Strong commercial acumen paired with sound technical accounting and analytical skills
  • Genuine desire to be an enthusiastic and active contributor to our growing team
  • Ability to develop positive relationships with key stakeholders and clients
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritise your workload
  • Fantastic people skills, an outgoing personality, and a passion for accounting and business advisory services
