- Ability to work within a Kaupapa Māori organisation and systems.
- Visionary and proven leadership experience in a relevant field, with a track record of driving strategic initiatives and effecting positive change.
- Working knowledge of the health, education, justice and social services/community development sector and experience in working closely with diverse stakeholder groups at both a governance and management level.
- A track record of success in leading organisational change particularly within a Kaupapa based organisation.
- Advocacy and representation experience at a senior level.
- Financial management expertise, including risk management, budgets, fiscal plans and forecasting skills.
- Experience in managing contracts and achieving KPI's.
- Highly developed and commercially driven, ability to conceptualise collaborative initiatives and bring them to reality.
- Sound understanding of Te Ao Māori, and a commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
- Alignment to Te Puawaitanga ki Ōtautahi Trust values.
- Experience reporting to a Board.
- Experienced in working with Māori and within a kaupapa Māori environment.
- An exceptional communicator, with the ability to engage and inspire diverse stakeholders, including funders, community leaders, and the public.
- A strategic thinker, with a collaborative approach, capable of navigating complex issues.
- An excellent people leader, with extensive senior leadership experience and strong negotiation and decision-making skills.
- Strong in supporting staff - growing capability, building accountability and celebrating contributions.
- A leader in building partnerships and working collaboratively with other providers of services.
- Innovative; able to identify new business opportunities.
- Able to develop and improve business systems and processes.
