The OrganisationTe Pae Hauora o Ruahine o Tararua MidCentral (MidCentral) is part of Te Whatu Ora, Health New Zealand and provides healthcare services to over 180,000 people across the Manawatū, Horowhenua and Tararua regions. With a large hospital campus in Palmerston North, it also provides key health care and support services to neighbouring communities.The OpportunityTe Uru Rauhi, MidCentral's Mental Health and Addictions Services are looking for an experienced registered nurse who has an interest in working with people who present in acute psychiatric distress. Working within the Crisis Resolution Service your skills will be valuable in helping whaiora to deal with distress, build their resilience and guide them to supports to aid their recovery.You will be working rostered and rotating shifts in a team environment and show skills in being able to assess and manage risk, build a knowledge base of community support agencies and work in partnership with them, and have a passion to see the lives of whaiora and their whanau improved.You will also work in partnership with the inpatient unit and community organisations to support whaiora and their whanau transitioning from in-patient care to community care.You will have:
  • New Zealand registration as a Registered Nurse
  • A can-do attitude and a strong focus on equity.
Ideally with:
  • Previous experience working within crisis services
  • Proficient to Expert PDRP
  • Duly Authorised officer (DAO) status, or willingness to develop this.
