The successful applicant must have the ability to follow instructions, work closely with an assistant Manager and Manager and be keen to get involved in the development and goals of the farm.
750 cows are peak milked through a 60 bale rotary with automation. Farm is operated as a system 5 and split calving through Autumn and Spring.We try and run a highly presentable farm so a high level of cleanness is required.
Must be reliable, Drug free, have a reliable vehicle & licence, as this is a drive in position.As a herd Manager your duties will include:
Assisting with milkings and the associated jobs
Animal Husbandry
Assisting with Feed allocation and budgeting including supplements ect
General stock work
General farm duties - Weed management, hosing and cleaning.
This job does include weekend work, but a fair and flexible roster can be negotiated.
Remuneration is hourly.
Position start date is flexible.
