As part of their commitment to excellence, we seek a dynamic and experienced Financial Controller to join their team.Job DescriptionAs a key player reporting to the General Manager, you will hold a pivotal role providing technical expertise and leadership to a small finance team (one direct report and outsourced accounts administration). Your primary focus will be ensuring timely and accurate delivery of results and reports, drawing upon your robust technical skills, particularly in cost accounting.Key responsibilities for this role encompass ensuring financial compliance, cultivating an in-depth understanding of costs, conducting cashflow forecasting, and spearheading the development of financial policies and processes. Your role will also involve a sharp focus on cost reduction, efficiency improvements, and the monitoring and analysis of financial performance metrics. Essential to the position is the production of comprehensive board and management reports, featuring insightful analysis.You will be skilled in translating financial and operational information into practical commercial and business outcomes, and relish influencing and advising non-financial stakeholders… and embracing the challenges this sometimes brings.QualificationsSuccessful candidates will possess the following qualifications and experience:
  • A Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or a related field. CPA or CA preferred
  • At least five years' experience in a similar role ideally in manufacturing
  • Strong compliance and regulatory reporting skills
  • Possess experience and knowledge of risk management
  • Have a background and experience with cost accounting and audit methodologies
  • Enjoy developing strong relationships across all levels of the organisation
  • Have the ability to develop and write robust and comprehensive policy and procedural documents
  • Proficiency in financial software, particularly MYOB Advance
  • Be a confident writer with excellent communication skills.
