We have an opportunity to join our team in a diverse and busy role where you will never get bored! In this Freight Forwarding Customer Service role, you'll play an integral role within our business.Why join our team? By joining the Burnard team, you will be part of our close-knit family. We have a professional, though relaxed, office culture where we work hard while having fun.You will need to come from the transport, logistics or freight forwarding industry, have knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. It would be highly regarded if you have experience with our key operating system, Cargowise, however if experienced with another freight package, full training will be provided.,You will be a team player who is adaptable, with excellent time management skills and is comfortable managing multiple tasks at once. Ideally, you'll have a minimum of a few years of experience under your belt in Customer Services. but most importantly, you will need to be someone with initiative, a passion for excellent customer service and high drive to take on challenges and learn new skills.Working across several different parts of a market-leading freight forwarding business, your new role encompasses a range of tasks and key responsibilities including:
  • Account Management - Day to day order processing, updates, monitoring orders/bookings / Providing clients with on time information.
  • Trade-lane responsibility - Actively monitor assigned trade lane(s), and communicate information.
  • Transitioning Clients - Actively take responsibility to transition clients from sales into customer services.
  • Rates - Monitoring service offerings/rates in conjunction with sales "rep" and maintaining margins.
  • Accuracy - Ensuring what we are delivering to the clients by way of reporting or communication is highly accurate / Data accuracy a must.
  • Client Liaison - Ability to promote excellent relationships with clients and participate in regular reviews.
  • Client Visits - Regularly visit clients face to face for meetings (as required).
  • Develop/Maintain SOPs - Ensure we develop the necessary standard operating procedures to ensure we can handle work efficiently & accurately.
  • Opportunities - Looking at both internal opportunities (how to streamline processes) but also look for sales opportunities with existing customer - how to grow our business.
  • Support - Back up to others that may require training or assistance.
