This is a good job for someone wanting to learn about a grass based low input system. We are milking 300 cows 20 minutes out of Rotorua, on a system 2 rolling/steep farm. Any imported feed is fed in the shed until balance date and then no further feeding out is done until winter. Summer management involves a slow round and deferred grazing. The only feeding out in a tractor is hay to the springers. The farm is rolling to steep in some area's so being confident on a 2 wheeler makes is a must. Cups on is 5:30am and you will always home by 5pm. The shed us a 30 ASHB, making it a nice tidy 10 rows.We are a young couple who have owned the farm for 2 years, and our manager is a good communicator and excellent pasture manager. We live off the farm, and have built a good team culture and aim for strong relationships based on good communication.This job is suited to two types of people
a) 2ic level who still has a few skills to learn prior to making the jump to management
b) If you have a few years of farming under your belt but want a job with a good work life balance. You are wanting to do a good quality job but not keen to work long hours.The farming skills you will need are:

Fencing experience
Feeding calves
