The 2ic is responsible for working closely with the contract milker to run the farm efficiently.
Their primary focus is on the day-to-day operations of the farm, aiming to maximize productivity and efficiency.
They collaborate with the contract milker, other 2 farm assistant .
Farm Infrastructure:
Your farm operates with a 60-bail herringbone milking shed.
The farm is totally grass-based, eliminating the need for additional feed.
Key Responsibilities:
Milking: farm assistant actively participates in milking operations.
Equipment Handling: Experience with riding 2-wheelers and 4-wheelers is essential.
Calving and Mating: Good experience in these areas is valuable.
Health Management: Identifying and treating mastitis and lameness in cows.
Fencing: Maintenance and repair of fences.
Effluent Irrigation: Managing waste disposal
They are in charge of the day-to-day running of the shed, with oversight from the contract milker.Qualities and Skills:
Applicants should be reliable, enthusiastic, honest, proactive, and hardworking.
A current CV with 2 references is required during the application process.
The farm maintains a drug and smoke-free environment. Candidate will must go through drug test at near medical center.
