Te Whatu Ora – Health New Zealand's, Te Tai Tokerau and Counties Manukau districts are working in partnership to enhance the Regional Dual Disability Service (RDDS) which serves the Greater Auckland and Northland regions. We are fortunate to have the opportunity to recruit additional team members including a Senior Medical Officer (SMO) or Medical Officer (MOSS) to work with New Zealand's most culturally diverse populations.We have a total of 1.0 SMO FTE available and are keen to explore opportunities with interested candidates who are looking for a flexible working arrangement, including part-time or full-time options, to join our teams working in Te Tai Tokerau and/ or Counties Manakau. The team will work as one regional service and pathway following a hub and spoke model, with a new spoke based in Te Tai Tokerau being established. This position will align to one or the other base team.Our current dedicated and experienced RDDS SMO is based in Counties Manukau and travels regularly to support the Northland region. This new SMO/ MO FTE is a valuable enhancement to our existing RDDS team. Additional enhancements to the RDDS MDT include a range of other mental health professionals with recruitment currently underway.RDDS is a regional specialist team, covering the wider Auckland and Northland Districts. We offer a comprehensive service including assessment, intervention, and consultation for adult clients with both a psychiatric disorder and significant intellectual disability.
