Come be part of our Team!Te whiwhinga mahi | The OpportunityWe have permanent full-time or part-time Registered Nurses vacancies available in our Paediatric General and Medical Services team at Starship Children's Hospital:The Starship General Paediatrics Service provides paediatric medical assessment and management for children and young people who live in the Central Auckland area. We provide both inpatient and outpatient services. Inpatients are usually admitted through the Starship Emergency Department and occasionally as an arranged admission. We provide an inpatient programme for young people with eating disorders who are medically unstable, in collaboration with the Child Liaison Psychiatry team and Eating Disorders Service.The Paediatric Neuro Services at Starship encompass Neurosurgery, Neurology, Endocrine, Metabolics and Developmental Paediatrics. Ward 26A includes a four-bed intensive observation area. Paediatric neurology involves looking after patients who are acutely unwell and require inpatient treatment (often in an intensive care setting), outpatient review of neurological problems and longer-term management of patients with chronic disorders.Nursing clinical skills you will gain on ward 26A are paediatric neurosurgical, neurology, endocrine, metabolic and developmental area.The Medical Specialities (Ward26B) provides tertiary and quaternary care to children including treatment for long term and specialist medical conditions. Our ward specialises in caring for children from the neonatal period right up to age sixteen with complex and often long-term needs relating to Renal, Gastro and Respiratory.For all aspects of this role and experience/knowledge required please see the .Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important SkillsAs the ideal candidate for this role you will:
  • have or be eligible for registration with NZ Nursing Council.
  • Paediatric Nursing experience
  • have a strong commitment to quality care

  • have a positive attitude, an innovative and adaptable approach to practice
