- Supporting and building the capability of regional Learning Support field staff, kura/schools, whānau/families and other practitioners working with assistive technology.
- Developing and maintaining collaborative relationships with a range of professional partners, community and sector groups to support the consideration of assistive technologies across educational settings.
- Providing leadership and contributing to regional projects that increase access to and engagement in the curriculum for ākonga through effective use of assistive technology, particularly for Māori and Pasifika ākonga with additional learning needs.

- Significant experience working with ākonga with learning needs in a classroom or other relevant setting.
- Assistive Technology Coordinator experience within the Ministry of Education.
- Experience supporting other educational professional to meet the needs of the ākonga with additional learning needs with assistive technology.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and an ability to work effectively with children, young people and their families and teachers across a diverse range of settings.
- The ability to understand and apply the principles of Te Tirirti o Waitangi and tangata whenuatanga.
